Biography

Knut Lund played as a defender for HIFK in Helsinki. With this club he won silver at the Finnish championship in 1912. At the 1912 Olympic Games, Lund played in all four games for the Finnish team. They defeated Italy (in overtime) and Russia in the first two rounds, but had no chance against England in the semifinal and the Netherlands in the bronze medal match. Lund played only these four games for Finland’s national team.

In addition to football, Lund was also a successful ice hockey player. With HIFK, he also won the Finnish ice hockey championships in 1911, 1912, and 1913. He also played one international match for Finland.

Lund had one daughter with his wife Anna Maria. They got married in 1922.
