Biography

Gordon Hoare played in all three Olympic matches in Stockholm, scoring one in the opening match against Sweden and twice in the final against Denmark. At the time of the 1912 Olympics he was playing for Glossop, but he also spent some seasons with Bromley, Woolwich Arsenal, Queens Park Rangers and Fulham before his retirement in 1920. He made 13 appearances for England in amateur internationals and scored 11 goals, though he was never selected for a full international.
