Biography

An inside-forward Bert Prince spent his footballing career in the Army where he served with the Royal Army Medical Corps, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Already an England amateur international, Prince played for Great Britain in their match against Norway at the 1920 Antwerp Olympics and after the Games went on to win five more England caps. He was appointed secretary of the Army Football Association in 1947 but retired through ill-health in 1953 and was made an Honorary Life President of the Association.
