Biography

Albert Weber was a member of the German soccer team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. The goalkeeper was severely injured during the first round match against Austria, when Germany was in the lead, 1-0. He was replaced by forward Willi Worpitzky and Germany then lost the game 5-1. In that era substitutes were not allowed, so Germany had to finish the game with only 10 players. Weber earned three international caps and played nationally for Vorwärts 1890 Berlin. By profession, Weber was a locksmith.
