Biography

Gyula Kiss had been a player of Ferencváros since the age of 12 and between 1934 and 1949 he played as a striker in the senior team. During this time, he won the Hungarian Championship and the Hungarian Cup three times, and in 1937 the Central European Cup. With Ferencváros he played in 254 matches (147 league, 87 international, 20 other) and scored 82 goals (46 league, 36 other). From 1949 he was a member of Fások SE. In 1936, at barely 20 years of age, he participated at the Berlin Olympics as a member of the amateur national team, playing only one game. In 1935 and 1937 he played two times in the Hungarian national team. In World War II, he fought on the Eastern Front and was taken prisoner of war by Russia. He died at the age of 43.
