Biography

Maria Lindström was a Swedish professional tennis player who played in more than 20 matches for the Sweden Fed Cup team. Lindström achieved a career-best singles ranking of 87 in the world in February 1988, and a doubles ranking of 44 in the world in October 1995.

Lindström won only one ITF singles title when she beat Olga Votavová in Båstad, Sweden in July 1985. She was more successful as a doubles player, winning 13 ITF titles from 1981 to 1994. On the WTA Tour she won two doubles titles, the first in 1989 with Heather Ludloff, and the second in 1994 with Maria Strandlund. Lindström competed in the doubles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics with Catarina Lindqvist, with the pair losing their first round match.
