Biography

Dino Mariani, a forward, played in four matches for the Italian team, three of which came at the 1912 Olympic tournament in Stockholm. The team was eliminated in the semi-final of the consolation round after losing to Finland in the first round in overtime. Mariani played as a forward for four club teams: Genova CFC (winning three Italian titles), AC Milano, Lazio Roma, and Savona FC.

His first club was AC Milano (1909-10, 1918-20). For the Genova club, he was the first player to wear the jersey of the Azzuri. After a third and two second places, he eventually won his first title in 1915 just after the outbreak of World War I. Following two years with AC Milano after the war, he returned to Genova in 1920 and helped the team win two more Italian championships in 1923 and 1924. Following a short stint with Lazio Roma he finished his career with Savona FC (1925-27).
