Biography

Alessandro Pistone was an Italian football manager and former defensive player. After playing in his youth in the Third League with Solbiatese and Crevalcore (1993-95), he moved to Lanerossi Vicenza in the Top League in the summer of 1995, where he played six games, and in November he moved to FC Internazionale, playing 19 matches with one goal. In the 1996/97 season he played 26 matches.

In July 1997 Pistone moved to Newcastle where he played three seasons, despite various injuries, playing 46 matches with one goal, and helping them reach the FA Cup final in 1998 against Arsenal. In 2000 he moved to Everton, where he played until the 2006/07 season, and with whom he played 103 matches, scoring one goal. In December 2007 he reached an agreement with the Belgian team of Mons, which did not renew his contract at the end of the 2007/08 season, after which he retired from the pitch.

Despite never earning international caps with the National A team, he played 13 matches, scoring one goal, with the U-21 squad with which he won the 1996 European Championships and participated at the 1996 Olympics where he played two games for a total of 103 minutes. After retiring as a player, Pistone became a coach, serving primarily for youth teams.
