Biography

Fathi Kamel spent his entire professional football career, from 1971 through 1985, with Al-Tadamon SC. During that time, the team won the Kuwaiti Division One championship in 1974. He was also a member of the Kuwaiti national team from 1973 through 1984, and was runner-up at the AFC Asian Cup in 1976. Four years later, Kuwait won the tournament and also appeared at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, where the country was eliminated in the quarter-finals. Kamel’s last major international appearances came in 1982, with a silver medal at the Asian Games, as well as a group stage exit at the 1982 World Cup.
