Biography

Evert Jan Bulder had his début for Be Quick Groningen in the 1913/14 season. He spent his whole career with the club playing his last game in 1931. He played as left winger during this time, winning the Dutch Northern Championships 11 times and the national championship in 1920. The match against Spain at the 1920 Olympics was his only international match. His younger brother Jaap was also a member of the Dutch squad at the Olympics.

Evert Jan Bulder established a law practice and after the war became an attorney and judge. For many years he was a councilor in Veendam, a small town near Groningen, and also held other public posts. In football, he was president of Be Quick for 25 straight years and was a member of the board of the Dutch football federation KNVB. In 1964 Bulder was appointed “Knight” of the KNVB in recognition of his contributions to the Dutch football.
