Biography

Harald Johansen played as a midfielder for Mercantile in Kristiania (now Oslo) beginning in 1905. The club dominated the local scene and won the first eight district championships (1906-13) with Johansen on the team. He helped his club win the Norwegian Cup in 1907 and 1912.

In 1908 and 1910 he played in Norway’s first ever international matches, both ending in defeats against Sweden. Until 1912 he won a total of seven caps. At the 1912 Olympic Games, he represented Norway in the matches against Denmark and Austria, both of which were lost without scoring a single goal. The match against Austria was his last international match.

Harald Johansen worked as a clerk and later as a machinery agent and wholesaler. He was married with the German-born Sophie Clara Elisabeth Johansen with whom he had one daughter and one son. He changed his name to Seiertun around 1920.
