Biography

Erik Dahlström was a member of IFK Eskilstuna and played as a striker from 1912-1929. With his club, he won the Swedish championship in 1921 with a 2-1 victory against IK Sleipner. When he had his début for the national team in the match against Finland shortly before the 1912 Olympic Games he became Sweden’s youngest goal scorer for the national team at the age of 18 years and one day, keeping that record until 2017. After scoring two goals in that game, Dahlström was included in Sweden’s team for the Olympic tournament in Stockholm and played in the 1-0 loss against Italy.

In 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerpen, Dahlström was an unused reserve. He won his third and final cap in 1921, after a gap of nine years, in a 0-0 draw against Estonia.

Dahlström worked as a toolmaker and factory foreman. With his wife Hildur Sofia (née Forsell) he had one daughter.
