Biography

Yari Allnutt was born in Baltimore but lived in Mexico until he was 10-years-old, where he learned to play soccer (football). The family moved to San Diego at that time and he began to play on youth teams, later playing for the University of Portland. At Portland Allnutt earned second-team All-American honors. Internationally Allnutt was on US teams from 1991-93, winning a gold medal at the 1991 Pan American Games and playing at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, earning five caps in all.

Professionally, Allnutt played from 1994-2004, both in the US and Mexico. He started with the Los Angeles Salsa in 1994, and then played for Inter de Tijuana from 1994-96, and Irapuato in 1996. In the US again, he played for the Carolina Dynamo, the Kansas City Wizards, the Rochester Rhinos, and the New England Revolution from 1996-2001. After a few years out of the sport, Allnutt returned in 2004 to play 19 games with the Rhinos.
