Bill Bertani earned three caps playing for the US national team, one in the 1948 Olympic loss to Italy, 9-0, and two in friendlies after the Olympics, one against Norway and one against Northern Ireland. He played in St. Louis, with the St. Louis Raiders in 1947-48. In 1948 he joined St. Louis Simpkins-Ford and helped them win the National Challenge Cup in 1948 and 1950. He was inducted into the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame in 1975.
