Biography

Oscar Brockmeyer played fullback in the first game, against Galt, but in the games against St. Rose he reversed positions with Joe Lydon and played forward. Brockmeyer was one of the best athletes in the school and also captained the football team. Brockmeyer graduated from the University of Missouri in 1908 with an engineering degree and also played football in the Association Football League with the Varsity team. After working as a draftsman with the City Hall of St. Louis throughout the 1910s, Brockmeyer eventually set up his own dry goods store in Webster Groves, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis.
