Biography

Jeff Hooker was a football (soccer) winger who played for the US national team from 1984-87, earning 12 caps. He played collegiately for UCLA from 1983-87, graduating in 1992 because of professional soccer commitments. Hooker played professionally in the Western Soccer Alliance and the American Professional Soccer League. He started his career with the San Diego Nomads in 1986 but later played for the Los Angeles Heat and the Colorado Foxes, retiring from playing in 1997.

In 1992 Hooker was named head coach of the University of Denver women’s soccer team, and led them to the Colorado Athletic Conference championship. In 2002 and 2003, he was the Sun Belt Conference coach of the year. Hooker also served as the school’s men’s soccer coach in 1996-97.
