Biography

Carola Dombeck won an all-around bronze medal with the East German female gymnastics team at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. She also qualified for the horse vault final and earned a joint-silver medal, tying with the famous Soviet Russian gymnast Lyudmila Turishcheva. Dombeck also placed 33rd in the individual all-around. The same year she also won the national title in the horse vault. She later became a graduated sports teacher and worked with the Institute for Teacher Education at Halle.
