Artistic gymnast Gerhard Huber was selected for the 1960 Rome Olympics, where he placed 111th in the individual all-around and 16th with the Austrian team. The following year he won his only Austrian national title, on the rings, and was second in the all-around event. His brothers Walter and Rudolf Huber also were artistic gymnasts.
