Biography

Percy Baker was born at Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff, Wales in 1880. A member of St. Saviour’s Gymnasium in Cardiff, he was one of four members of that Gymnastics Club (along with Charles Sederman, Sidney Domville and William Titt) who were chosen to compete for Great Britain at the 1908 Olympic Games in the team event. Baker also won six titles as a member of the St Saviour’s team between 1903 and 1911.

He resided at South Luton Place in Cardiff and during World War I was a Red Cross Volunteer working at Cardiff Royal Infirmary. He later became a lorry driver.
