Biography

Jürgen Geiger was a member of the West German male gymnastics team that finished a respectable fourth at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. He also placed 10th in the individual all-around but missed all the apparatus finals except the parallel bars, where he finished joint seventh with his team-mate Daniel Winkler. Geiger participated in the World Championships from 1979-85. Domestically, he won nine individual titles.

By profession, Geiger became a graduated business economist and took over his parent’s grocery stores in his hometown Herbolzheim. As an amateur musician, he occasionally played drums with a local hard rock band.
