Biography

Thomas Thorstensen won two medals with the Norwegian gymnastics teams: in 1908 silver in the men’s team event, and in 1912 gold in the men’s free system team event. Thorstensen and Sigvard Sivertsen were the only members of the silver winning team from 1908 who won gold four years later. His younger brother, Gabriel was also on the team.

Thomas Thorstensen worked as a customs officer in Bergen and Stavanger. His father of the same name was a manager of the Stavanger branch of the Norges Bank. He remained unmarried.
