Sigvard Sivertsen won two medals with the Norwegian gymnastics teams: in 1908 silver in the men’s team event, and in 1912 gold in the men’s free system team event. Sivertsen and Thomas Thorstensen were the only members of the silver winning team from 1908 who won gold four years later.
Sivertsen was the son of a shoemaker. Sigvard started his professional career as store clerk of a manufacturer. With time he became head of department, merchant, and manager. In 1912, he married Anna Magdalena Bergesen; they had two sons.
