Biography

A member of the large Swedish team, Yngve Stiernspetz won a gold medal in the Swedish System Team competition, an event only held at the 1912 Stockholm and 1920 Antwerpen Olympics. A volunteer with the Swedish artillery after completing high school, Stiernspetz rose through the ranks, making captain in 1925. He became head of the Småland artillery regiment in 1927. In 1931, he was awarded with the Order of the Sword (Svärdsorden).
