Biography

Andreas Kempf competed in three events at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics. He competed in the individual all-around (20th); the individual all-around, apparatus work (8th); and the individual all-around, field sports (=75th). Kempf represented the Kansas City Turnverein. Kempf was born in Switzerland and came to the US in September 1902. Always listed as American because he represented a United States club, Kempf was still a Swiss citizen in 1904. He applied for naturalization as a US citizen in September 1908, but it was denied.
