Biography

Peter Larisch was on the East German handball team at the 1972 München Olympics that unfortunately lost the bronze medal match, 19-16, against Romania. He earned 11 international caps. Domestically, Larisch played with SC DHfK Leipzig, helping them to win the 1972 East German Championships. He then moved to SC Einheit Halle-Neustadt and BSG Post Schwerin. In 1980, he was the top scorer in the East German Oberliga with Schwerin. Larisch trained as a waiter and later owned a restaurant at Goldberg. His son Kay-Peter also became a handball player.
