Back forward and left-hander Hendrik Ochel was on the German handball squad at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics when the team finished a disappointing tenth. He won 44 international caps and scored 104 goals. Domestically, he played with MTSV Schwabing (until 1986), TSV Milbertshofen (1986-93), SG Hameln (1993-94), THW Kiel (1994-95), and GWD Minden (1995-96). Ochel helped Kiel winning the German national title in 1995.
