Biography

Back forward Richard Ratka was on the German handball squad at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics when the team finished a disappointing tenth. He won 71 international caps and scored 182 goals. Domestically, he played with HC TuRa Bergkamen (until 1986) and TuRU Düsseldorf (1986-96). Ratka helped Düsseldorf win the European EHF-Cup in 1989. Ratka later turned to coaching and worked with HSV Düsseldorf, VfL Gummersbach, GWD Minden, DHC Rheinland, and SG Ratingen 2011.
