Biography

Mike Thornberry was a student at the US Military Academy where he played on the West Point handball team, graduating in 1994. He competed for the USA at the 1995 World Championships and the 1995 NationsBank Cup, in addition to his Olympic appearance. He was a national team member from 1994-2005, competing at the 1999 and 2003 Pan American Games and winning two bronze medals at the Pan American Championships. Thornberry earned 150 caps during his handball career.

After graduation from West Point, Thornberry joined the air defense artillery, staying in the military through 2000 and leaving as a Captain. He then became a senior regional director with PTC, a company which services the high-tech, HVAC, FA&D, and the oil and gas industries, leading PTC’s direct sales in the central region.
