Austrian 4th dan judoka Norbert Haimberger participated in the lightweight division at the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics. He was eliminated in the pool stage and placed 22nd. That same year he won the European Championships. From 1990-93, and again in 1996, he won five Austrian national titles.
After ending his sporting career, Haimberger worked as a market researcher, became managing director and co-owner of FOCUS CEE, and later managing director and co-owner of a marketing agency. Haimberger also founded an agency specialising in medical practice optimisation.
