George Horvath was born in Danderyd, Sweden, to Hungarian parents. Horvath, along with Svante Rasmuson and Lennart Pettersson, won the bronze medal in the modern pentathlon team event at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. Horvath also worked as a police officer in Stockholm.
