Biography

John Rodgers rowed double sculls for Australia at the 1952 Olympic Games, alongside Murray Riley. The two also competed at the 1952 Henley Royal Regatta, placing second. Rodgers rowed for the Kapyla Club and later the Sydney Rowing Club. At the state level, he played second in the 1954 Kings Cup Regatta in Hobart and third in that event in 1955 in Adelaide. In 1954 the Sydney Rowing Club awarded him the John Hackett Memorial Trophy for winning the most points in the 1953/54 season. He also won the A Grade Winter Series Competition in 1951 and 1953. Rodgers worked for many years in the motor vehicle industry.
