Biography

One of three brothers, Eero Laine rowed at the 1960 Roma Olympics along with his two siblings. In the coxless four the Finnish quartet comprised of Eero, his brothers Heikki and Pertti, and compatriot Arto Nikulainen. The Finnish crew, however, were last in their heat and did not start in the repêchages. In Finland Eero was a two-time champion in the coxless fours, winning in 1958 and 1960. He later served as the coach at his rowing club and became the club’s chairman.
