Biography

French rower Claude Pache competed in the coxed fours, representing the national team throughout the 1960s. In 1964 Pache was part of the crew that rowed at the Tokyo Olympics. After finishing second to the Soviet Union in their heat, the French team then won their repêchage to advance to the A Final, where they came fourth. After the Olympics he won four consecutive national titles in the coxed fours from 1965 to 1968. Pache remained involved in rowing for all his life, later serving as the Vice-President of the Entente Nautique Aviron d’Aix-les-Bains from 2000 to 2010 and the President of the Comité de Savoie d’aviron rowing club from 2001 to 2008.
