Biography

Rower Carola Hornig could not participate due to the Soviet-led boycott at the 1984 Los Angeles Games. However, she won the gold medal with the East German coxed fours at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. At World Championships, she won one gold medal with the coxed fours in 1983, one bronze with the eights in 1982, and three silvers, with the eights in 1985 and 1986, and coxed fours in 1987. Between 1983-88, Hornig also won seven national titles in different classes.
