Andrea Kurth was a member of the gold medal winning East German coxed fours at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. This was the first female rowing gold for East Germany. She also won the World Championships in 1977 with the coxed eights. That same year she won her only East German national title, with the eights. In 1980 she married non-Olympian rower Gerd Sredzki, and became a youth coach. She was a graduated sports teacher.
