Biography

Rower Beatrix Schröer was a member of the East German eights at the 1988 Seoul Olympics that won the gold medal. She won a Youth World Championship gold medal with the quadruple sculls in 1980, and then moved to the eights. In 1985 with the eights, she became both national champion and World Championship runner-up. In 1986 she added another silver with the coxed fours. In 1988, she won her second national title with the eights. By profession, she became a nursery school teacher.
