Biography

Birgit Schütz rowed on the gold medal-winning East German eights at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. In 1977 she won two silver medals at the East German nationals with the coxed fours and eights, and the following year won gold in both events. Also in 1978, Schütz, who studied economics, won a silver medal with the eights at the World Championships.
