Biography

The West German coxed fours placed 12th at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. The crew did not start in the B-final due to the illness of two crew members. Cox Stefan Armbruster rowed together with Niko Ott, Peter Berger, Udo Brecht and Hans-Johann Färber of RV Neptun Konstanz and also earned the 1968 West German national title. In 1967 Brecht and Färber won the national title in the coxless pairs, and also won a bronze medal at the Europeans. Brecht won another bronze medal at the 1970 Worlds, together with Lutz Ulbricht.
