Biography

West German rower Wolfgang Klapheck was a member of the coxed fours at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and the crew finished seventh, winning the B-final. Klapheck first appeared at the World Championships in 1987 when he finished fourth with the coxed fours. In 1989, the crew placed ninth and the following year they earned the silver medal. Klapheck then moved to the eights and won the World title in 1991.

At German nationals, Klapheck won the title with the coxless pairs in 1991, and with the coxed fours in 1987. By profession, he worked in the telecommunications sector and became senior product manager at Telefónica Germany.
