Biography

West German rower Christoph Korte was a member of the coxed fours at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the crew finished seventh, winning the B-final. Korte won his only German national title with the eights in 1990. That same year the crew also won the world title.

Korte finished his geology studies in 1992 and received his doctorate at Bochum in 1999. He became a professor at the University of Copenhagen in 2009. He lived on the Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn, and commuted by ship and train between the Danish capital and his home. The former high-performance athlete also trained as a yoga teacher.
