The Italian coxed pair with Giovanni Scatturin (registered “Scattorin” in the registry office) and Ercole Olgeni won the 1920 gold medal in Antwerpen and the 1924 silver medal in Paris but with different coxswains. At the European Championships Scatturin was less successful, winning one silver and one bronze medal in the coxed pairs in 1923 and 1924 and one silver in the eights in 1910. His first Italian championship came in 1910 in the eights, also winning in 1920 and 1921 in the fours and in 1919, 1923 and 1924 in the coxed pairs. After the narrow defeat in the Paris Olympic final, Scatturin ended his sporting career and later emigrated to Argentina, where he died at the age of 58.
Italy
