Beat Wirz was a Swiss coxswain who represented Seeclub Luzern during the 1960s. In 1968 Wirz was selected to compete in the coxed pairs at the Mexico City Olympics. The crew of Wirz, Urs Fankhauser, and Urs Bitterli were well beaten in their heat, but qualified for the semi-finals through the repêchage. Despite having the slowest time in the semi-finals, they redeemed themselves by winning the B Final to finish seventh overall.
