Biography

Sue Morgan competed at the 1976 Olympics in the coxless pair and the 1977 World Championships in the coxed four. She started rowed as a senior at U Cal Berkeley, graduating in 1975, and for the College Boat Club. After competing in rowing for a few years after college, Morgan returned to medical school at Temple University, earning her MD degree in 1982. She did her residency in pediatrics and then practiced pediatrics, specializing in adolescent medicine, with Kaiser Permanente in Roseville, California as Dr. Hooten after marriage. Morgan-Hooten continued to stay active, winning a World Indoor Rowing Championship on ergometers in the 55-to-60 year-old age group. She also competed in triathlons.
