Biography

Diana Olson, an Alaska native, attended Stanford and only started to row while in college. Olson worked as a medical lab assistant while training for the Olympics. She competed at the 1991 World Championships in the eight, in addition to her Olympics appearance. Her biggest major win was a first-place finish in the eight at the 1991 Lucerne International Regatta. After the 1992 Olympics Olson took a year off from training, but when she returned to the sport, she lacked the motivation to continue and called it a career. She later worked in environmental biology and as a fire researcher for the forest service in the Pacific Northwest.
