Biography

Cathy Symon rowed in college at Georgetown University. She was on US international teams at the 1996 Olympics, the 1995 Pan American Games, and the 1994-95 World Championships. Symon won a silver medal in quad sculls at the 1995 Pan Ams.

After college Symon studied biotechnology at Columbia University. She then obtained a masters’ degree in biomedical writing at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, finishing in 2012. She had worked various jobs while putting herself through that field of study, but in 2012 became a freelance medical writer.
