Biography
Kristen Thorsness only started rowing at the University of Wisconsin, where she graduated in 1982. Thorsness competed for the US at the 1984 Olympics, winning a gold in the eights. She also competed in the eight at the World Championships in 1982-83 and 1986-87, winning silver medals in 1982-83 and 1987. Thorsness trained for the 1988 Olympics but was only an alternate for the team. She did that training while attending law school and later practiced law in New York.
