Biography

Dick Draeger rowed for Stanford and the Lake Washington RC. He and Conn Findlay both at 6-6 (1.98 m), made a giant pair at the 1960 Olympics en route to their bronze medal. Draeger’s one national title came in the 1960 Olympic trials in this event, which doubled as the National Championship regatta. In 1978 he took up rowing again in masters’ and veteran’s events, competing for the Marin Rowing Association. He competed at the Henley Veteran’s competition and the Head of the Charles Regatta.
