Biography

Alan Forney rowed at the University of Washington and later earned an MBA from Seattle Pacific University. He competed for the United States at the 1984 Olympics, earning a silver medal in the fours without. Forney also rowed eights for the US at the 1982 and 1983 World Championships. After the Olympics he went into banking with Rainier Bank in the Seattle area. He later spent six years with US Banks commercial lending team in Bellevue, Washington, and then joined Commerce Bank of Washington.

Forney serves on numerous civic and charitable organizations in the Seattle area. He has been on the Board of The Seattle Police Foundation and the Board of Rowing Stewards at the University of Washington, and served as a director of the Washington Rowing Foundation. He has also been with the United Way, Childhaven, Junior Achievement, Big Brothers of King County, and has served as Treasurer for the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club.
