Biography

Edward Masterson was a cox for the US coxed fours crew at the 1956 Olympics. Masterson attended Cornell and represented the West Side Rowing Club. He coxed lightweight crews to titles in the fours and eights at the 1953 US Nationals, and 1953 Canadian Henley. In 1954 he coxed heavyweight and lightweight fours and eight to National Association of Amateur Oarsmen (NAAO) titles and the eight to a Canadian Henley title. Masterson was the cox in 1955 for crews that won NAAO championships in heavyweight fours, lightweight eights, senior eights, and senior fours, as well as winning the senior eights at the 1955 Canadian Henley
