Aaron Pollock attended San Diego State University (SDSU). Besides rowing he was a walk-on on the football team as a sophomore. Pollock only began rowing in 1989 yet made the US National team that competed at the 1991 World Championship, in addition to his 1992 Olympic appearance. Pollock later became a mentor to the SDSU rowing team, and was a member of the H. Del Beekley Rowing Foundation Board of Directors. His son, Mason Pollock, became a rower at the University of Washington.
